Our ride started with a steep 1.5 mile climb, then transitioned to somewhat moderate hills with a gentle tail wind. We took a smaller, county road to visit the Shiloh National Military Park.
Otha's proved to be one of our more interesting stops. Miss Otha, 82, retired and sold the business to Nana and her daughter.
Nana was busy preparing the noon meal, the $6.50 plate lunch advertised. Today's lunch featured sliced, baked potatoes, pork steaks, and other sides.
Nana showing John her potatoes. While we drank our coffee, Nana related the history of the cafe, bragged about her daughter and two, talented, musical granddaughters, and how they were planning a trip to Paris. She offered some of her potatoes and leftover coconut creme pie.
